Excuse the profanity and implicit exaggeration… this one post I’m about to write is strictly the truth written with a slight hint of the dramatic.

And so it begins….

I think it was around 6:58AM when… I was counting sheep number 1,553,881, I was on an island alone with Jessica Alba and BAM BAM BAM!

Suddenly awoke, adrenaline pumped to a high, 6:58 in the frekin morning!? I was like… WTF! “What was that?!”. I forced myself to close my eyes and sleep again but “BAM BAM BAM!” Ahhhh man… it must be the new neighbors celebrating. I didn’t think of it much until…

The 8th LOUD ROUND OF KNOCKS did I say to myself… WTF?! no way… it sounds like knocking on my front door! WTF!? I live on the 17^th floor but yet I hear construction noise? Heck it’s 360 Condominiums… security is locked dooooowwwnnnn. Shoooot where’s my baseball bat?! Where’s my chinese blade?! F*ck it I’m using my camera tripod. This is a matter of life and death…

As the knocking got louder… I inched myself over to the front door. Using my ninja skills I tiptoed over without any sound whatsoever and peered into the peephole. WTF?! Police!? Ummm…. speechless and let go of the tripod and opened the door.

“Where are the teal shirt and shoes?!” The Police officer questioned me with a stern and commanding voice.

“What!? Is there something wrong?” I said. Flabbergasted I see two police officers that are well equipt. Okay… they win this round I thought. “I’m not sure what you are saying Officer?”

“Where are the teal shirt and shoes?!”

“I have no idea what you are saying” Was this a dream? What do the police officers want from me?!

“M’am!” Police officer shouts for a girl down the elevator hallway. “Is it 17…0…6?!” Within 1 second a girl’s head pops out from that hallway. Scruffled looking, clothes distressed, erractic and definitely eccentric.

“Yes, I’m sure…” She looked at me surprised. Maybe she got the wrong number or place?! Has that ever crossed her mind!? Or maybe it was because I was completely naked with my boxers on. God thank myself for not having a morning boner! haha..

With some hesitation she looked at me and the Police officers and requested that I let her enter my place. I didn’t think much of it when she walked in but my “TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF, ASIAN HOUSEHOLD” rule was in a way broken… destroyed… DISOBEYED when she virally stomped her feet over my place searching for her “belongings” b/c just then did I realize she happen to have the dirtiest feet ever! Maybe I should change the policy to CLEAN YOUR FEET BEFORE YOU ENTER MY CONDO! WTF?!

After 15 seconds rummaging and scanning my condo she skedaddled out and told the police officers it’s not my place. WTF?! Of course not! Well, thanks for the kind words girl… now get the heeeelllzzzz out!

The police officer then decided to apologize, “Sorry about that, she said 17…0…6 and so we had to come check it out, most likely we’re going to lock her up” That’s reassuring… whose going to give me my dream back?! Whose going to clean after the infected feet prints that stomped around like a leprechaun in my place? Explain that?!

“Thanks officers, your just doing your job” I smiled and I let them go…

Okay so now that I’m awake… what do I do.. WTF?! Why the my place I thought!? I guess I should check the concierge and be like… WTF?! How the hell did they just go up to my place and have an all out knocking session with my front door?!

I’m marching myself downstairs! As I exit the elevators I noticed the cops still there. One of them decided to stay back and inform me of the situation.

“Come over here, Sorry about what just happened, the girl you saw been calling 911 the whole night saying her belongings been stolen and that there was some type of drug and prostitution ring at 17…0…6″ Danng… I never thought of myself as really a ladies man but prostitution?! drugs?! that’s overboard.

“Once again, the situation will be investigated but we know now it’s not 17..0..6.” Thank God to that I thought to myself!

“It seems this girl is completely high. And excuse us for this, we had to act and we were basing it all on her words.” Well, WTF?! She could have said anything and you guys would have believed it?! There’s got to be a procedure for this crap. Not only can I not go back to sleep I’m stuck writing this email to my neighbors venting my frustration. WTF is the protocol when some sh*t like this happens?!

After 32 hours of sharing my story to neighbors and management it seems like there was more. So it seems like the girl that thought I housed her shoes and shirt also wanted me… the alleged victim to pay for her “services” haha… this story just keeps on getting better.

I personally don’t watch that much tv but I would spend the bucks to buy all the accessories to get it working. For those that know me, I actually don’t even have cable or HD set up. Funny thing is… my TV is probably one of the top of the line technologies out there with all the kewl buzz words: 1080p, 120hz, widgets enabled, wireless, Samsung, etc. … but I consider it more as a “nice to have” addition to my living room furniture.

I think I haven’t touched my ps3 and tv this whole year, let alone the SingStar game I bought to hone in on my american idol skills.

None of you may see it but i see it already. As tv’s become paper more thin and sleek, hologram beaming becomes cheap and ubiquitous, and the digital quality becomes more hi-def what will they come up with next?!

I don’t know about you all but i’m saving my money right now for the next-gen of on-Demand live viewing performed in my living room. This approach… beats out blu-ray and any hi-def television and sound system! On a side note, actors, actresses, producers, directors, camera crew etc., all have to take their shoes off, my crib is an asian household.

43rd floor of 360

43 stories up into the sky, up up and on top of Austin, I’m looking out of the highest building in Austin Texas. It’s truly a remarkable bird’s eye view of the Austin scenery. I’m not acrophobic but when I was leaning against the balcony railing I would have to admit I held the railing tighter as a reassurance that I will be safe.

So how did I get up there? Well, the developer decided yesterday to open up this penthouse for viewing in support of a AID’s charity. I took the opportunity to check it out and was quite impressed. The penthouse consists of 2 stories, decked out with hardwood floor and top of the line appliances. I think this puts things into perspective of how different the middle class and the upper class are… one extra decked our story haha…

The way I see it… you have to be completely showered with money if you were to live in a pimp pad like the one I just saw. So assuming you paid the 2-3 million condo in cash… the HOA would be around >1k, taxes would be around 60-70 K… wow… it adds up … straight baller. Is it worth it… perhaps… you would have to see it for yourself. Did I mention there is a hottub on its deck?

I came home one day to find a huge packet of mail for me. Taking into consideration the privacy of my mail, I’m going to restrain myself from telling you all the mail I got, I will however tell you one piece of mail that intrigued me… my voter registration card.

Ahh… it’s election time again I said to myself! Well, for the city of Austin! Elections tip off on May 9! Aight.. I’m soooo ready to pull up my sleeves and do some campaigning! And perhaps make my “candidate” win

Back to the main topic… I might as well spill the beans… My name is George C Luc, I have lived in Blacksburg, VA; Fairfax, VA; and currently Austin, TX; am a software engineer by training; I’m a son in a family of 4, and most importantly…. I’m 66 year olds. Quite a shocker. I still to this day have no idea why they think I’m 66 years old. Why am I older than my parents? There’s got to be some way for the system to validate this right? This is just one of many examples how the system is broken… or perhaps just out of date. Maybe this would put me at a competitive edge if I was to run for office someday… I am Benjamin Button… the asian version, quite the “mature” and ready to serve Austin as … *insert office*! GeorGIE for office… bring “Chi” into Austin haha….

sooo yeah… I need to change that.

I can’t express enough how my life is changing with the added beauty of green plants. The power of growing something from a seedling is perhaps one of the most remarkable feats any human can do.

I went to south congress one afternoon in pursuit of two clay pots. I was on a mission. I wanted to make my balcony look more livelier. So what do i do? I bought two medium sized pots, filled it with potting soil and put on my farming hat. I’m going to grow grass!

It’s been two days so far. I’ve consistently added water and hoped for the best. The only thing I’m worried about is the weather, it’s been a bit unpredictable here in Austin. I figure if I’m a pro at taking care of dogs… grass should be much simpler right? Will keep you all posted my baby bermuda grass. Time will tell.

Dragon Boating

Leg’s hurting, arms worn, back stretched, lungs gasping for that one extra stroke.

Dragonboating is by far the best exercise and social sport ever. After an intense workout, I feel a sense of camaraderie and bond with all the other dragonboaters. What once was a recreational sport to me has now become my desire to master. I’ve longed for this moment in my life… It has long been dormant and stowed away… I shall release it now… Everything that touches my grasp shall now get propelled into a whole new level of extreme competitiveness. Boys with hot girlsfriends… watch out… hahah… Just kidding. But this is the perfect way to begin my Valentines A reevaluation of me.

I sit before this post viewing the austin skyline, admiring the people laughing at the farmers market 2 blocks away, the couple intimately holding each other bracing the strong cool air of austin, and the occasional dog running after that one bouncing tennis ball. So much happiness, so much fun, so much love in the air. Could it be that we all tend to be happier or more in love on this 14th day of February? I think not. Now, I don’t want to finish this post off like all the other writers out there… like those of Roland Martin… but I would have to agree… everyday should be valentines. Not only would it help the economy it would help weed out those posers trying to be all lubby dubby for just one day. So here is the crux… Love thy neighbors. Smile to one another. Give a call to a long lost friend. Volunteer and help out your community. Give back. Do all of what you may plan on doing in just this one day and do it everyday. Valentines deserves to be everyday.

It’s amazing what you learn from hockey players It shows how all disciplines are in some way connected by their values and hardships. The first quote helps me realize I must be at the forefront of technology. The second one makes me realize the importance of caring for what makes me excel. I don’t think I need to expand anymore on these quotes; they speak for themselves
